The Turtle Beach Audio Advantage Micro is a small form-factor external USB soundcard. The Micro has a stereo analog output that can be connected to headphones or stereo speakers, and it also features a digital optical S/PDIF output (with included adapter) for connecting to your home theater via a digital connection.

The idea behind this product is that it offers a simple, cost-effective sound quality upgrade to your existing soundcard in your laptop or desktop computer. Internal sound cards are typically susceptible to electronic interference inside your computer, whereas this product is more likely to have a static-free signal. This Micro is the base model in the Audio Advantage line with the Amigo, which adds an external volume control, and the SRM, which adds 5.1 or 7.1 Surround Sound. The Micro retails for $29.95.

#turtle_beach_audio_advantage_micro Just got one of these today after listening jealously to Amanie's device. I'm not a big audiophile, but even I can hear the difference, it's pretty sweet. For someone who's using $20 headphones then obviously this thing is overkill, but if you use your headphones on your computer a lot then it's also better to buy one of these than get some $80 headphones. The downside to these is that they're ONLY useful on your computer, while good pair of headphones can be used in a myriad of devices. I use my headphones 90% of the time on my computer, so that's why it's a good fit. RECOMMENDED!
