There are two technologies at work: 1) the X-Fi Crystalizer attempts to recover some of the audio richness lost in the mp3 compression, and 2) CMSS-3D creates a virtual surround experience. Packaged in a sleek "iPod-esque" design and features a large control wheel to manage the settings. No drivers required; simply plug the Xmod into your computer and you are ready to go.

#creative_xmod_x_fi I currently have a traditional sound card inside my desktop PC and a lot of noise is introduced into the audio. I have a good pair of headphones that faithfully reproduce the electric buzz, hiss, and pop. I'm hoping the Creative Xmod provides an affordable, compact solution to my problem.
